The Sharkz are made up of lawyers, Bloomberg employees and workers at various other NYC professional firms. The Sharkz played their inaugural season in 2006 at Chelsea Piers and finished with a first place 9 and 3 record in the B2 Division. They entered the MRHL Fall 2008 playoffs as the #2 seed after finishing the regular season with an 8-1-1 record. They won the Fall 2008 League Championship over the NYU MED team in two straight games.

The Sharkz are led into their seventh MRHL season by captain John Maloney and assistant captains Phil Garmun and Robert Oram. Bob Oram won the Spring 2008 regular season MVP award with 45 points (35 goals and 10 assists). Oram also won the Fall 2008 Playoff MVP trophy.
